SPRING-FORD 2017-2018 SCHOOL CALENDAR
The Spring-Ford Board of School Directors approved the 2017-2018 School Calendar during the February 27, 2017 Board Meeting. The first day of school will be Monday, August 28, 2017 and the tentative last day of school will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Click here to view the full calendar.
2017-2018 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Children living in the Spring-Ford Area School District who will be five years old by August 31, 2017 are be eligible for Kindergarten in the 2017-2018 school year. KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION will begin on February 22, 2017 and end on March 29, 2017.
 
Parents should select "Student Registration" on the left side of the page. Once the online registration information is complete, parents will be prompted to select a date and time for the appointment, which will be held at their child’s elementary school. Parents who are unsure of their elementary school, or are unable to select an appointment, may call 610-705-6120.
SPRING-FORD EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION 5K
Registration is open for the 4th Annual Spring-Ford Educational Foundation 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run!

WHEN: Friday, April 21, 2017
TIME: Registration opens at 5:30 p.m.; Kids Fun Run begins at 6:15 p.m. and 5K begins at 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Spring-Ford Area High School
350 South Lewis Road
Royersford, PA 19468
COST: $18 for students grades K-12 registering for the 5K
$23 for adults registering for the 5K
$10 for kids fun run (t-shirt not included)

PSSA TESTING
 2016-17 PSSA Testing Information 

PSSA testing will begin on Monday, April 3rd.  It is imperative that students arrive to school on time and are prepared for the testing.

DORNEY PARK TRIP
June13, all of our eligible eighth grade students will visit Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, PA  during the final week of the school year.  Please click HERE to access copies of the informational letter, medication guidelines, permission and medical form, and chaperone form.  Payments for the trip will only be accepted on the following dates:  MARCH 1-2, APRIL 3-4, and MAY 8-9.
SPRING STUDENT PICTURE DAY
Friday, April 7th will be students will have their spring portraits taken.  Parents should fill out the attached form (one was also sent home with your child).  Making sure to choose one favorite portrait look.  Students should bring this from on Picture Day (4/7/17).  There is no need to send money at this time.  After Spring Picture Day, parent will receive a portrait package to review and purchase.  If you do not want to purchase any pictures, you will simply return the packet with your child to school. DAILY ANNOUNCEMENT INFORMATION

- Attention to all students attending the music department Bush Gardens trip.  All rooming request forms must be submitted by tomorrow morning.  all remaining students will be assigned rooms after tomorrow morning.
- Bored this winter? Not motivated to do anything physical? Well now is a good time to start planning your act for the annual talent show.  Grab some friends and organize a group feature, and use the winter months to get it ready for spring auditions.  If you want to do a solo act, now is the perfect time to plan and rehearse it.  Don’t wait until auditions are announced to throw something together…Get moving on it now!
 

EATING DISORDERS

National Eating Disorder Awareness Week is February 26 through March 4, 2017.  To honor this important week, the Eating Disorders Program at Brandywine Hospital is highlighting their support group for individuals in recovery, individuals currently struggling with symptoms, and family and friends of those suffering from an eating disorder.   Please click HERE for a Flyer.

The Spring-Ford School District has compiled several videos for students and parents to view in order to learn more about the electives (minors) available at the High School.  Please use the following directions.  NOTE:  Make sure you are using Google Chrome and on Spring-ford.net to watch these videos.

9TH GRADE COURSE SELECTION INFORMATION
Course selections for the 2017-18 school year has begun.  On Thursday, January 19th, all 8th Grade Center students attended course selection assemblies and were addressed by the 9th Grade Principal and Guidance Counselors.  They all received a packet of information, including a timeline and a 2017-18 course book.
On Tuesday, January 24th, a Course Selection Parent Presentation will be held at the 9th Grade Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact your child's 8th Grade Guidance Counselor.
STUDENT ASSEMBLY - 2ND QUARTER
Dr. Siggins and Mrs. Rinehimer recently held student assemblies to reinforce school rules and expectations.  Click HERE to access the information shared with the students.
Science Fair
Science Fair meeting will be held on the 2nd and 4th Monday's of each month in Mrs. Croll's room (e235) at the 7th Grade Center.  October meetings will be held on October 10th & 24th.  Students who plan to compete this year are required to attend at least one meeting a month.  Have a ride ready to pick you up at the back of the 7th Grade Center at 4:00 p.m.  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Beth Croll at the 7th Grade Center.
